Skin in Flames (La Pell en Flames)

By Guillem Clua, Translation by DJ Sanders

Jan 30 – Feb 24, 2008

An American photojournalist's iconic photo of a schoolgirl thrown into the air by a bomb blast has made him internationally famous. Twenty years later, he returns to that third world country to receive an award from the troubled "democracy". In a hotel favored by western elite and local suicides, he meets a mysterious young woman for an interview that will resurrect history with a vengeance. Rooms away, a young mother trades sex with a U. N. doctor for her comatose daughter's life. Two intertwining stories create a harrowing parable of the jaundiced symbiosis between the power of the First World and the desperation of the Third.

Contains nudity and strong sexual content.
Recommended for mature audiences.
