Salt Lake Acting Company is proud to partner with Art Access and Utah Symphony | Utah Opera to present an evening of short play readings written by local veterans as part of ARTS IN SERVICE TO THE MILITARY, a cultural festival with an emphasis on supporting veterans and current military through the arts.

Salt Lake Acting Company and Art Access have teamed up to create a playwriting workshop for veterans. Through this program, local playwright Julie Jensen has mentored a group of veteran playwrights in a 4-week playwriting class. The participants have been learning the nuts and bolts of writing for the theatre and how to make a short play work. They have been working with dialogue, character and story structure, and experimenting with techniques for making their plays more original and surprising. The culmination of their work will be presented in SLAC’s Chapel Theatre.

Director: Robin Wilks-Dunn
Cast: Brenda Sue Cowley, Cragun Foulger, Jeanette Puhich Foulger, Lonzo Liggins, Topher Rasmussen and Emilie Starr
